Based in Cherry Hill, New Jersey, USA
HigherEd Options was founded by Jeannie Wang, a former high school college counselor and higher education professional with over 30 years of experience guiding students through academic planning, educational transitions, and college decisions.
Through HigherEd Options, Jeannie offers comprehensive college counseling to a limited number of high school seniors and juniors each year, allowing her to work closely with every student and family throughout the college planning, application, and final decision-making process.
Jeannie’s background spans high school college counseling, university first-year student support, undergraduate academic advising, study abroad planning, and international student services. For the past seven years, she worked closely with high school students and families at Menaul School in China and New Mexico, guiding them throughout the college planning and application process. Earlier in her career, she spent twenty-three years at Pace University and Rutgers University–Newark, where she advised undergraduates on academic planning and study abroad, taught a first-year community course, and directed international student offices serving both undergraduate and graduate students whose academic, career, and visa-related decisions were deeply interconnected.
Across all of these roles, her approach has remained consistent: understand each student as a whole person, help families evaluate their options, and provide practical guidance grounded in fit, affordability, and long-term goals.
